2026 Holiday Calendar
Overview
Nihao School follows a yearly calendar with scheduled holidays and closures. Care is unavailable on the following holidays:

- Jan 1 - New Year’s Day
- Jan 19 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Feb 16 - President’s Day
- May 25 - Memorial Day
- Jun 19 - Juneteenth
- Jul 3 - Independence Day
- Sep 7 - Labor Day
- Oct 12 - Indigenous Peoples’ Day
- Nov 11 - Veterans Day
- Nov 26–27 Thanksgiving Break (Thursday & Friday)
- Dec 15 - Jan 1 Winter Holiday (last two weeks of December)
Tuition Policy During Closures
Tuition remains due during holidays and closures as we operate on a reserved seat basis.
Sick Policy
Introduction
When in doubt, please keep your child home and reach out—we’re happy to support you.
When Should My Child Stay Home?
To protect the health and safety of all children and staff, please keep your child home if they have any of the following symptoms:
• Fever of 100°F (37.8°C) or higher
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Persistent cough or difficulty breathing
• Unusual fatigue or inability to participate in daily activities
• Contagious conditions (such as pink eye, rash, or other diagnosed illnesses)
• Any symptoms that may pose a risk to other children in the program
If a child becomes ill during the day, families will be contacted for prompt pick-up.
When Can My Child Return to School?
Children may return to school when:
• They have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours
• They are able to participate comfortably in daily activities
• They no longer pose a risk of spreading illness to others
For certain conditions, additional clearance or longer recovery time may be required.
Health & Safety Reminder
• Up-to-date immunization records are required for all children
• We follow safe sleep practices for infants
• Emergency preparedness and safety procedures are regularly practiced

Tuition & Billing

We aim to keep our billing simple and transparent for all families.
Tuition Overview
Tuition at Nihao School is based on a reserved seat for your child and is not adjusted for absences, illness, or holidays. This structure allows us to maintain consistent staffing, programming, and quality care for all families.
Payment Schedule
• Tuition is due on the 1st of each month
• Payment is considered late after the 5th
We encourage families to submit payment on time to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.
Late Pick-Up Fee
• A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged after 6:00 PM
Please plan ahead to ensure timely pick-up and support a smooth transition for your child and our staff.
Absences & Holidays
• Tuition remains due during absences, including illness, vacation, or personal time
• Tuition also remains due during scheduled school holidays and closures
Nihao operates on a seat-based model, which ensures your child’s space is reserved at all times.
